One of my guilty pleasures is splurging on perfume. I will FIND space just so I can add another bottle to my collection. It isn’t just something I find pleasure in but it is something I am truly passionate about. To smell divine, receive compliments, and feel your most confident self are experiences I want to have DAILY!
Today, the three perfumes I am reviewing are all DIVINE! They are completely different from one another but are universal in their aroma. You will get compliments with either of these fragrances! I have worn all these fragrances and paid special attention to them to gather information to give you a true read on what they are all about, let’s dive right in!
Fragrance #1: Missing Person by Phlur
I received a sample of this fragrance in the mail and when I opened the packaging the creator wrote “If nude had a fragrance this would be it.” That was intriguing enough for me so I quickly put it on. My first thought was I couldn’t think of a better analogy to describe a fragrance. I don’t know how it works but when I spray this perfume nude is exactly what it reminds me of. This fragrance is angelic! Missing Person embodies so many different notes when you spray it but they all tie together to make the perfect scent.
Top Notes: Skin Musk, Bergamot Nectar, Sheer Jasmine
Upon the first spray, I smelled all three notes. The skin musk and jasmine go together perfectly and the Bergamot Nectar adds a smooth sweet note.
Middle Notes: Fresh Cyclamen, Neroli Blossom, Orange Flower
I believe the Fresh Cyclamen is running the show for the middle notes and I am not mad at it! There is a floral undertone that it adds to the scent that gives you that “girly girl” feeling.
Base Notes: Sandalwood Australia Oil, Blonde Wood, White musk
I thought that I was smelling vanilla when the fragrance began to die down, but it was actually sandalwood. The Sandalwood in combination with the White musk is delightful! Everything that was put into this fragrance was meant to be!
Projection Rating: 8/10
From first initially applying this fragrance in the morning, it took 5 hours for the fragrance to begin to die down. I think 5 hours without reapplication is not bad for the type of fragrance this is and the price point. I have no complaints! I do believe if you layer some of the other products that come in this fragrance such as the fragrance oil, the projection time will be longer.
Fragrance #2: Mimosa and Cardamom by Jo Malone
When I smelled this fragrance, there was no second thought on if I actually wanted to purchase it. It reminded me of the perfect laundry day! This scent is fresh, clean, and spicy (but not in an overwhelming type of way) I feel like I’m inhaling the scent of freshly cleaned towels.
Top Note: Cardamom
You would think this overpowers the fragrance but everything marries together so well. From my experience, the cardamom is more warm and sweet versus spicy in this fragrance.
Middle Note: Mimosa
The mimosa is going to be my favorite part of the fragrance–it is warm and powdery. I love, love, loved it!! The mimosa gave this fragrance character and without it, I do believe that the fragrance would be missing a key component
Base Note: Tonka Bean
I smelled the tonka bean the least in the fragrance and it could be because it is the base note. However, I do feel like it ties into the overall warmth of the fragrance.
Projection Rating: 5/10
I got 3 good hours before I needed to reapply the perfume again. Therefore, this fragrance is meant for “moments” not “events.” A few sprays on your pulse points before bedtime or before going to work out will be best. If you want to wear the fragrance with the intention of it lasting all day, I would layer with some of the products that come in the same scent or layer with another perfume.
Fragrance #3: You by Glossier
Out of all three fragrances, this was my absolute favorite one! It is floral, peppery, and clean. If you like a diversity of fresh scents, this one would be nice to add to the collection. This fragrance adds another layer to “clean scents” and is not basic at all!
Top Note(s): Pink Pepper & Iris Root
This is the star of the show. You smell it immediately when you spray the fragrance. The first layer is peppery (Pink Pepper) and powdery (Iris Root). It comes in strong and projects well. When I spray the fragrance it reminds me of a warm hug. If you love the “clean girl” scent(s) then you will enjoy this note in the fragrance.
Middle Note: Ambrette Seeds
This note is woodsy and sweet. It is not overpowering but claims its place in the scent combination. You can smell the woodsy part of the fragrance as soon as it settles on the skin as well.
Base Note: Ambrox
This note is creamy and musky. It is very soft and gives you a warm cozy feeling on the inside.
Projection Rating: 8/10
I was able to get 5+ hours out of my first application of this fragrance. My first compliment came at 8:00 in the morning upon passing one of my coworkers. This is the ultimate scent if you love: clean, fresh, warm, spicy, floral, skin scents. You can layer this fragrance if you would like, but in my opinion it is not needed. My recommendation is to reapply the fragrance if you sense it dying down.
All of these fragrances are different variations of clean scents, but they smell completely different from one another. If you are a fragrance connoisseur, you need variations of scents to add diversity to your collection.
