I am a first time mom (who’s still figuring out how to balance it all), I work a “9-5”, I’m a wife, and I’m a first time homeowner as well. I find running therapeutic and “getting lost in a book” an underrated hobby. I don’t have any special talents, I’m not related to any celebrities..I’m just me. I love all things self care (which seems to be a thought of the past now that I have a baby) and I enjoy the occasional cleaning spree. I travel often but have grown to dislike planes and I will try anything ONCE because we only get one life and you miss 100% of the chances that you don’t take.
You and I are figuring this blog thing out together! My goal is to uplift you to grow deeper in love with your passions and pursuits while also building the courage to get back to the things I truly enjoy. I want you to know that I have had some great failures! I went to nursing school and did not make it past the first semester. As much as I wanted to quickly move past it, I found myself going to my “9-5” plastering a fake smile on my face only to later get chocked up when I spoke with an administrator over the phone who was doing a final assessment to see what hindered me from making it through the program. I have also had some great achievements like becoming the first home owner (outside of my grandmother) in the last 3 generations of my family tree at the mere age of 21. I say that to say I’m human—there’s no difference between you and I. I don’t have the “aesthetic” life where I stay at home while my husband works, Im not an influencer, I follow more recipes on Pinterest than I do creating my own. My last google search was “How often should I be pumping if my baby is 6 months old.” That is the reality of this life I live and love! We both have visions, dreams, and goals that we hope to achieve in this present lifetime. I’m just choosing to step out of my cocoon and display it all on a public platform.
In this blog, we will talk at length about all things: self care, travel, being a homeowner, being a wife, decorating, cleaning sprinkled with the occasional devotional to uplift BOTH OF US! Through this blog, we will grow together—side by side. I won’t just encourage but I’ll depend on you all to be a form of encouragement and motivation to me as well (remember, we are figuring this thing out together).
With Love,
-Savv B.
