Recently, I became a first-time homeowner (I’m still so excited and grateful for this new chapter in my story). My husband and I alongside our newborn stay in the home leaving 4 rooms empty. We don’t plan to expand our family any time soon, leaving the guest bedroom as the next space to be inhabited.

When I invite someone over, I want them to feel like it’s their home. Peace, serenity, tranquility, meditation, and calmness are all words that come to my mind when I think of how I want someone to feel in my space.

Since I am decorating and exploring ideas for my home, I would love to share what I plan to provide for a guest if they were to stay in the guest bedroom.

We are going for “The Ultimate Hotel Experience.” This means the goal is to provide things in a guest bedroom that a hotel would provide if someone stayed in their facilities as well as items that make you feel relaxed and comfortable.

Below, I have included a list of must-have items (in no particular order) not necessarily placed in the guest bedroom, but readily available in the guest bedroom and bathroom for your guest to get cozy and comfortable. Let’s dive right in!

This was the first thing I thought of when providing comfort for a guest. These house slippers are disposable (if you desire to dispose after each use), but they are also washable and reusable! They come with storage bags if you want to keep everything organized as well.

Toothbrushes are a staple for guests! Yes, you would expect guests to remember to bring items such as this but if we are creating the “hotel experience” it’s only right to provide toothbrushes just in case someone forgot to pack theirs.

Toothpaste falls right in line with toothbrushes (you can’t use one without the other).

Individual packs of mouthwash are more convenient for guests than one big bottle. It’s a simple option that takes out the worry of people using the mouthwash cap (Trust me, I’ve been there before).

Most guests aren’t there to stay for a long period. These small deodorant sticks are perfect for an extended weekend and offer each person the opportunity to have their own personal deodorant so no one has to share!

Hair is also one of those sensitive parts of the body for most people. No one wants to share their hair brushes and combs with other individuals, so to have the courtesy to provide your guests with personal brushes and combs puts you at the top of the list for most hosts (Most people don’t think this in-depth about a guest’s needs).

It is important to offer non-fragranced lotion to guests because of different sensitivities that people may experience with their skin. When you offer products such as this, you want to remain in the clear with EVERYONE for your sake and theirs.

Disposable razors are extremely convenient for travel especially because they are disposable. If a guest forgot theirs or happens to need one during their stay, you save them a trip to a store (or better yet a weekend being ungroomed).

When I saw this I knew I had to have it! This literally embodies the “hotel feel”, because in most hotel bathrooms this is how the body wash and shampoo are offered. This also helps you as the host because you don’t have to worry about constantly having to repurchase disposable body washes and shampoos (unless you like that type of thing). The dispensers I chose offer a minimalistic, sleek look (which is my entire design portfolio truthfully).

I wanted to review all three of these items together because I can not express enough the importance of investing in quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your guest. The shampoo and conditioner below are for all hair types, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and cruelty-free (It doesn’t get better than that). The body wash is for sensitive skin and only contains 10 ingredients which are all explained on the back of the bottle to give you insight on what you are using on your body. Products such as this have to be universal for guest so you greatly reduce the chances of your guest having an adverse reaction to something in the products.
